BABY STEPS

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 When I got saved 16 years ago, I remember one challenge that took me a while to overcome - Speaking at the wrong time. I was quick to speak. I suddenly started hearing the Lord tell me to shut up many times in a day. I would open my mouth and then hear "Anne shut up" and my voice would just cease. Did you know that the few times I ignored him and went to "so-calledly" speak my mind, I got in trouble? People just ended up misinterpreting and misunderstanding me. Today, He doesn ’ t have to say "shut up". He simply says, "Anne be calm" or he just restrains me deep down.   I'm not yet perfect. I confess I still miss him rarely though; but I am a lot mature and tamed in that area of my life. You got saved some years back too, and he began to caution you concerning a

VALIDITY PERIOD

We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can ’ t take our riches with us. Ecclesiastes 5:15 I was in between two choices on MTN (telecom service provider)'s data bundle. My Android phone is fun to use but the data plan from my service provider isn ’ t fun at all. I have to choose between the pay #1000 get 250mb VALID for one month OR pay #100 get 10mb valid for 1 day. I have used both but there isn ’ t no plan as satisfying as our monthly Blackberry subscription. A validity period is the maximum length of time during which something can be used. If one subscribed for the 10mb plan, the plan becomes invalid and whatever megabyte you have left would be inaccessible once 24 hours go by. Recently, remaining megabytes are rolled into one's next subscription. It wasn ’ t so in the past. Our achievements, riches, fame and all are like our megabytes. In life, remaining riches are not rolled

THE SECRET TO A LARGE HARVEST

Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.  proverbs 14:4 (NLT) For us at the Birthplace , God has been recently talking to us about overflow, multiple harvests and increase. The year 2014 has been declared the year of the overflow and the month September happens to be the month of OVERFLOW. We desire to see great results from our works, vision, career, ministry and all. We put in our best and sometimes it just doesn't measure up to our idea of the overflow. However, the problem is never with God but with man. Proverbs 14: 4 says, without an oxen a stable stays clean. This means when you have nothing to work with, your store house will be empty. The Oxen here refers to our skills, talents, efforts and whatever you are committing into the fulfillment of your dreams. However, the second part of that scripture says, it is not enough to have an ox (plural) but have one that is strong!! It says, "you need

ELIJAH'S BURGER

Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “ Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there. ” So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. 1 kings 17:2-6 Just recently I was studying the scriptures and I had my younger brother-Precious by me. When I saw verse 6, I mindlessly said, "What does bread and meat taste like?" Of course I was imagining one loaf of hot "Agege" bread (a Lagos brand of bread) and "suya"(name for roasted beef sold at street corners in Lagos). Just then, my brother said, "bread and meat is burger". Boy! I couldn ’ t agree less. I had to call it Elijah's burger and we both laughed about it. Isn ’ t
