Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith
Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed
the ravens to supply you with food there.” So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith
Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and
meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the
brook.
1 kings 17:2-6
Just recently I was studying the scriptures and I had my younger
brother-Precious by me.
When I saw verse 6, I mindlessly said, "What does bread and
meat taste like?"
Of
course I was imagining one loaf of hot "Agege" bread (a Lagos brand
of bread) and "suya"(name for roasted beef sold at street corners in Lagos).
Just
then, my brother said, "bread and meat is burger". Boy! I couldn’t
agree less. I had to call it Elijah's burger and we both laughed about it.
Isn’t
amazing to know that God gave Elijah a specific address and free meal tickets
at the Raven's restaurant?
Sweetheart,
we must stop limiting God. He still provides in extraordinary ways and through
the strangest channels even today!
As
a child, we had times of nothingness in our house. My father-Bishop Dr. Peter
Atulaegwu was and is a full time minister.
I
saw and heard my dad pray and just before he got off his knees, there would be
a knock on the door by someone who had the answer to his prayer.
We
no longer have periods of nothingness but we STILL AND WOULD FOREVER look up to
God for our needs. God never failed US.
I
learnt from my father how to see God as a loving and caring father. In fact, we
were not to ask dad and mum for anything if we hadn’t
first told God.
I
learnt to Trust God in those periods of nothingness and I am still learning in
my surplus.
God
loves you
Yes,
he already gave you free meal/life tickets for all the good things you desire.
See psalm 34:9-10
DONT GIVE UP ON GOD, BABY!!
Love you
Anne Atulaegwu
