HOW TO SPOT A GOOD MAN

Last night at Insure your marriage  online conference, I was privileged to teach on the subject, Good men are hard to find. Is that  true? Destroying the myths and lies that make women settle for less than God's best. This post is a copy of what I shared with them. I did a different post for a meaty part of the Q and A.  Check it out. THE 4 LIES OF COMPARISON

GUEST POST BY JC AMAH There are a lot of things in my life that I feel like I do well. But for every skill I think I’ve mastered, there is always another person that I think does it a little bit better than I. In some cases, this may be true, but in others, it’s due to a helping hand of comparative insecurities that I hold so dear to my heart. I discovered the hard way that comparing one’s self to the life and accomplishments of others have a way of making one feel inferior, no matter how untrue this fact may really be. For most of my life, I let the infectious disease of comparison dwell within my heart, destroying my self-worth and confidence from the inside out.  Read: M irror war-Winning the battle against self image It’s not a great place to find yourself in, and I wouldn’t recommend you travel down the road of comparison any time soon. Comparison brought my insecurities to a level they had never been before. Instead of being the guy who was willing t...

WHAT IS MY DESTINY?

What’s my destiny? Since we can’t awaken what we haven't Identified , the above question is pivotal to anyone’s stay on earth and afterwards. Identification is key to becoming . I've heard people say "it is her destiny" when someone gets or doesn't get a VISA to London. Others use the phrase when one gets rich at really young age but dies before he is 40. Those situations make destiny seem like an event bound occurrence. Destiny is beyond events. Hear me love, Your destiny is beyond events. The dictionary says the following about destiny - Destiny is the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. - Destiny is the hidden power believed to control future events; fate. However, that is totally man's definition of destiny. Actually, Destiny is man's end. Destiny is the end of a matter. Read: The Schedule Destiny is not predetermined b...

HOW TO ESCAPE THE IN-LAW'S ISH

In this part of the world, when two people get married, they become joined not only to each other but to their families as well. And ever so often, some potential in-laws have a way of making their potential daughter or son in-law feel like they are doing them a favour by allowing their child to marry them.  Read: Three fatal mistakes young people make So, because of intimidations like these and the need to please their in-laws, many individuals who are engaged have allowed their in-laws determine the course of their relationships. Many have seen so many red flags in the families ‎ they are marrying into but have chosen to keep quiet about them. Instead of boldly relating with their potential in-laws and observing to find out more things about them, they have chosen to be conscious of themselves so as not to appear unmarriageable. They have chosen to use this time to please their would-be in-laws, rather than study them and know if they can marry into such a family...

THE PURPOSE OF A WOMAN

I woke up at 2am and headed for the kitchen at about 3:15am. I turned on the gas, got out the items I bought the previous night and proceeded to make breakfast for my family. I was meticulous about the meal because I didn’t want anyone to feel mummy’s absent. I’m the first of five children and so it’s kinda natural to step into mummy’s roles when she’s out in the North for your cousin’s wedding. A delicious (in my opinion) pot of spaghetti in a mouth watery tomato sauce sat ready on the gas cooker after a bit. I turned to the sink, cleared dishes from the night before and proceeded to Iron my work wear for the day and my seven year old brother’s school wear. I returned to bed at 4:15am and was grateful to God for the gift of power holdings (NEPA). Meanwhile, my seven year old brother slept in another room with my younger sister. I had him crying lightly just before I headed for the kitchen. I went to the room where he laid, picked him up and took him in...
