DON’T LET THESE 3 THORNS RUIN YOUR TESTIMONY

Photo Courtesy: DeviantArt The Christian journey is very challenging. Well, perhaps you find it easy. Kudos if you do! I come face to face with daily tests, seasonal trials and periodic temptations. I love the Lord Jesus and I’m fully aware that he constantly strengthens me in every way necessary for me to overcome and finally receive my reward in the end. However, there are several moments when it feels just plain hard to be Christ-like or serve sacrificially in ministry. If you do not have any hard time at all, please feel free to read other posts on this blog and ignore this one; but if my words resonate with you on any level, please read on. Lately I’ve been taking out time to study “great” men and especially women in ministry from the 16 th century to this point. I’ve come to the conclusion that there is really nothing new about the tests, trials or temptation that we have to deal with in today’s world. Everyone whom God ever used had to make sacrifice...

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD STOP EXPECTING FROM OTHERS

Photo Courtesy: A new mode Expectations are those little holes from which frustration sometime clouds our heart. Knowing what to expect or not expect from people is key to finding fulfilment in your everyday journey. Below are a few things you must never expect from people if you hate feeling frustrated. 1.    Total Acceptance  Stop expecting people to totally accept you. People have their own idea of amazing and its no big deal if you don’t fit into their box. There’s someone who totally accepted you his name is Jesus!  Read: Are you a Victim of these Life Rakers  ? 2.    Frequent Validation I totally understand the need to feel validated by a significant other. However, it becomes a torment when you often expect them or others to validate you and they don’t. When in doubt of how wonderful you are , look up Psalm 139:14. When in doubt about your capacity, look up Philippians 4:13. When in doubt of how cute you are, check the mir...

THE PREDESTINED ROUTE TO FULFILMENT

The word “predestined” means already designed or planned by God. Purpose is God’s idea hence HE definitely has a pre planned route by which we must go. A life that has been submitted to God would have experiences programmed by God to get him to destiny. These experiences are the routes to destiny. They may be pleasant or unpleasant but necessary. God usually determines in advance what course your life should take for the fulfillment of his purpose in your life. For the children of Israel to get to the Promised Land (God’s purpose for them), they were to go through a longer route rather than the road of the Philistine country which was shorter.  “When pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the red sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for bat...

WHEN RUNNING AWAY PROVES YOU’RE BRAVE

Photo Courtesy: Pinterest Often than not, the word “bravery” brings to mind moments when someone confronts or faces their fears irrespective of the outcome. As a little girl, I was taught to be bold, to speak up, be courageous and face my fears. I’ve practised been all that and to some extent some of those come natural for me. In as much as “bravery” is  a vital skill for dealing with fears, wars or battles, conflicts and all what not, there are moments when walking away or running away might just be a proof of bravery. Like most people, I’m pretty sure that you’ve looked out for moments when you need to be brave and face or confront situations. However, I’ll like to point out this distinct life circumstance when bravery isn’t about stand and face but turn and run. When people try to define you I often say to people that life is a journey and a really personal one. Being on a journey requires that we be aware of our purpose on the journey, our identity ...
