Why did you start a business?
Most people start a business for one or all of the following
reasons.
1. To earn a living.
2. To build wealth
3. To make impact
Think deeply. Which of these is or are your reasons?
What Entrepreneurship
really is
Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and
running a new business, which is often initially a small business.
The people who create these businesses are called
entrepreneurs (Wikepedia).
Entrepreneurship involves willingly taking calculated risks.
Therefore if earning a living or building wealth is just your
reason for delving into entrepreneurship?
There is a high chance you will be disappointed.
You can earn a living safely as an employee and you can build
wealth as an employee too. You simply need to know how to compound and invest
money to create wealth. There are great finance coaches who can show you how to
compound and invest your money for wealth creation.
Your reasons for
delving into entrepreneurship becomes a game changer once it truly includes –
To impact lives.
3 things you must bear in mind on your entrepreneurial
journey.
1. Significance not Survival must be your goal
2. Relevance not relaxation must be your concern.
3. Money is the reward of products/services not your purpose.
If money is not the
purpose of entrepreneurship?
What then is?
I speak to believers
The purpose of entrepreneurship is found in the ELEMENTS OF A RELEVANT VISION excerpted
from The Recruit Mentoring Program below.
A relevant vision contains the following as summarized in Isaiah
49:6
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my
servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of
Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be
my salvation unto the end of the earth.”(KJB)
Take a close look at that scripture. You will see 4 distinct
elements of a God-given vision.
1. It Raises
2. It Restores
3. It Lits
4. It Saves
1. It Raises:
“raise up the tribes of Jacob”
Jacob is also known as Israel in the bible. He was called Jacob at
birth and later called Israel at encounter.
“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel:
for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast
prevailed.”Genesis 32:28 (KJB)
A close look at that verse reveals Jacob as an ordinary man, with
frailty of character and Israel as a prince, powerful with God, powerful with
men and a prevailer/winner/overcomer.
In clearer terms, Jacob refers to the man yet to enter his purpose
while Israel is the man walking in his purpose.
Now the Hebrew word raise in that verse is transliterated “qum”.
It means to strengthen, to establish, to build up!
Therefore a relevant vision establishes those who haven’t found
their purposes. And how do you do that? You guide them to the place of
encounter with CHRIST so that they can receive their purpose!
The Establishment of a man is in HIS PURPOSE (God's divine
assignment for HIS LIFE)!
Who is that vision in your heart going to raise?
Who is that vision in your hand raising?
If no one is coming into your "organization, system,
business, NGO or events getting an encounter that awakens the
prince /preva iler/establishment in them?
THAT VISION ISN"T ETERNALLY RELEVANT even if you make
millions of dollars out of it!
2. It Restores:
“restore the preserved of Israel”
The preserved of Israel are those who have met the Lord,
understood their purposes and are devotedly working in it.
They’ve been kept, guarded from the corruption of the world’s
system and have stood for the Lord in service in spite of all they’ve been
through.
However, these people have missed out on some sort of comfort that
they ordinary would have had if they had compromised their stand with God.
To restore them is to minster/bring them back to a place of
comfort.
Missionaries readily fall in this category. They’ve been stripped
off a lot and their souls sometimes feel weary by the toss and bustle of the
attacks and pressures out there. It is the duty of fellow believers to
“restore”, “refresh”, “bring” them back into some form of rest/comfort.
Beyond missionaries, there are other faithful believers serving in
their capacities and standing in defense of our faith and the name of the Lord
around you- look out for them.
How is that vision (NGO, business, event or anything else) in your
hand, restoring other believers?
3. It Lits
“I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles”
I love how this sounds!!!
Dear Entrepreneur, you are the light gifted to the unsaved!!!
You are not just in the force of light. You are the LIGHT NOW!
A light connotes hope, resolve, comfort, deliverance, solution!!!!
ARE YOU BEING THAT TO YOUR WORLD?
ARE YOU TRULY BEING A SOLUTION?
WHAT PROBLEM IS YOUR
VISION GOING TO SOLVE?
WHAT PROBLEM IS YOUR
VISION CURRENTLY SOLVING?
When the world is confused, we are to be the light guiding them to
the TRUTH, THE WAY and THE LIFE!
Please solve problems like hunger, poverty, Education and those
many areas where mankind struggles; but if you do all that solution provision
and not lit hearts to the consciousness of CHRIST as the true solution to the
decay of mankind, YOU HAVE NOT FAITHFULLY EXECUTED THE MISSION!
To give man rice without offering HIM the opportunity to meet your
Christ is wickedness to that man.
For the true light that every man seeks is the light that lits the
soul not just the body.
Does your vision have this element?
4. It saves
“thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth”
God sees clearly the pain of mankind. God sees clearly what damage
the fall has done not just to man but to other creatures of the earth.
When He sent JESUS he dealt His best BLOW against darkness.
Dear Entrepreneur, it is unfair to not save others!
The word salvation is translated “Yeshua” in Hebrew.
It means to be my deliverer, helper, prosperity, saviour to the
ends of the earth.
Does your vision have this quality?
The father’s 3-fold
agenda is to
1. Save the lost
2. Birth/Awaken purpose in the saved
3. Strengthen the believers
Any vision that isn’t fulfilling at least one of these 3-fold
agenda is ambition birthed and therefore eternally IRRELEVANT.
MY POINT
Don't waste your entrepreneurial
opportunity. The money is a means to an
end, not the end. Don’t make the money your purpose.
Committed to your fulfillment
